Korenica Lake

Korenica Lake

Two smaller artificial lakes were formed on the river Busur, in the 1960’s - Korenica and Busur.

The main reason for this endeavor was to prevent the damage that this river, due to its torrential character, caused to the surrounding fields and settlements at certain times of the year.

Today, these two small lakes form a water surface of about 18 hectares. The lakes are considered mainly as local picnic areas.

After having been stocked with carp, the lakes began to attract fishermen, so the first cottages were built in this area. The construction of tourist infrastructure and designing the shores could encourage the development of bathing and fishing tourism. The shores of the lake are adorned with a preserved natural ambiance, pleasant climate especially in the summer and clean air. Solely their position creates feeling of isolation and relaxation.
